Stock Number: 2424Pair of Wonderfully sculptural wall mounted Farrow and Jackson Wine Racks. Metal strapwork frame with waved iron sections held with metal clasps. and wall brackets. These examples unusually come with their original iron stands, they hold 156 bottles of wine each. We also have a double sided free standing example. This collection of wine racks originates from the Victorian Wine Cellar at Palace House, Beaulieu. England. Used by the Montagu family for generations to store wine made on the estate and collections such as Edward 3rd Lord Montagu who was Chairman of The Wine Guild. We have the letter from the Keeper of collections at Beaulieu acknowledging their sale after the relocation of the Victorian Wine Cellar dated late 2017. The Makers Farrow and Jackson of London and Paris. took part in both the 1862 London Exhibition and the 1873 Vienna Universal Exhibition where this model of wine rack formed part of their display.
