17th Century crackle glazed baluster vase, likely for storage of dry food - spices or apothecary. Reclaimed Treasure from a Chinese trading vessel wrecked off the coast of Vung Tau, Vietnam Circa 1690. Likely bound for Dutch trading port Batavia (Jakarta) for onward distribution to the grand houses of Europe. Christie's Amsterdam April 1992 & subsequently retailed by Harrods (with Certificate of Authenticity) Fine Glazed baluster vase, pale green/grey ground crackled glaze. Covered in sea bed encrustations. China, Circa 1680.
