Provincial 19th Century Walnut Desk
Stock Number: 4692Provincial walnut writing table or bureau plat with leather insert. Wonderfully shaped serpentine front and elegant cabriole legs. The rectangle top has a wonderfully patinated leather insert. Interesting shaped frieze fitted with four drawers, locks and keys are also present. The apron is particularly attractive, with sweeping rococo inspired arches echoed by the bold, scrolling legs, terminating in simple pad feet. Handsome and useful piece of furniture as a desk, console or sofa table enhanced by the warm, lustrous walnut. France, Circa 1860.
