The arms meet in a distinctive coiled detail above a substantial ebonised wood base, creating a strong contrast between the warm brass and dark wood. The geometric shade directs the light downwards, while the restrained construction and bold silhouette are characteristic of mid-century modernist design. An unusually sculptural desk lamp with a strong architectural quality, equally suited to a desk, console or side table. Rewired in antique style flex, b22 bulb holder. PAT tested. France, Circa 1950
