Italian Brass Counterbalance Diabolo Floor Lamp
Stock Number: 4844An Italian floor lamp combining warm patinated brass with a bold red diabolo shade. The slender stem rises at an angle from an unusual base, where a brass sphere is paired with an extended support ending in a cylindrical cross-foot. Adjustable at the base, the stem can be positioned to suit its setting. The metal shade has a central brass collar and small perforations around both rims, with a pale interior contrasting with the red exterior. Its simple geometric form gives the lamp a distinctive profile, while the brass brings warmth and an attractive aged character. There are minor blemishes to the shade, and the brass has been left in its untouched patina across the stem, fittings and base. The combination of colour, fine lines and sculptural details makes this a lamp for placing beside an armchair or sofa, equally at home among antiques or in a contemporary interior. This lamp has two bulb one in each section of the shade so uplights and downlights. the shade also articulates on a ball and socket joint. Rewired in antique style flex, PAT tested to UK standard. Italy, Circa 1970.
